Money Saving Apps

If you’re like me, you’re always looking for a good deal. I like to shop around before I buy and find saving anywhere I can! As a matter of fact, we gets many eye rolls from our kids when they ask for something and we respond, ‘Did you find a coupon code for it?’

If you’re tired of clipping coupons, check out these MUST HAVE 5 Apps that are easy to use and help me save money every week. A few require that I plan ahead, while others provide me with saving after a purchase with little or no interaction from me at all. Because let’s face it, who gets the newspaper anymore?!

ibotta

ibotta, by far, is one of my favorite money saving apps. With ibotta, after you purchase your items, you simply scan the item and the receipt and the money is added to your ibotta account. Once you reach the minimum dollar amount you can put it on a gift card or straight to your Amazon account.

The other great thing about ibotta is that it’s just not for groceries. There are savings available for alcohol, clothing, pharmacy, restaurants, mobile shopping and more!

Another feature that I like about ibotta is that they have rebates available for ‘any’ product or ‘any’ restaurant. For example, there might be a rebate available for ‘any’ gallon of milk. It doesn’t matter what brand I buy, I receive the rebate regardless. This making shopping or deciding where to eat much easier!

Groupon

Groupon takes a little more planning because the product or service must be purchased through Groupon before using it. Search Groupon by category; Goods, Beauty & Spas, Restaurants, Travel, Health & Fitness, etc. Groupon can also be searched by Things To Do near you. Once the product/service is found, the item is purchased at a discount through Groupon, then redeemed. Goods can be shipped to you or at the issuers business. Services can be redeemed at the issuers business.

Groupon is a great place to find deals on restaurants, bars, festivals and spa treatments. I have found that it’s a great way to try new restaurants at a discounted price. In addition, I usually shop for beauty and spa deals on Groupon, rarely purchasing a service that wasn’t found on Groupon! We also use Groupon for travel, especially when we don’t have a destination in mind. We just search for the best deals on Groupon and book them! It’s a great way to visit new cities for less!

Paribus

Paribus is a great way to get money back effortlessly. Simply download the Paribus app and link it to your email account where you send your e-receipts. Many stores have pricing policies that state that if a product goes on sale within a certain time-frame from when you bought it, you are allowed the difference back. But let’s face it, how many of us actually keep our eyes on ads for this? That’s where Paribus comes in!

Paribus works with many retailers that you currently shop with such as Target, Kohl’s, Gap, Old Navy, and Walmart, among others. Paribus will monitor your online receipts and check for price drops on the products you have purchased. If eligible for a price adjustment, Paribus will notify you and the retailer. And just like that, you are getting money back!

Retail Me Not

RetailMeNot puts a new spin on coupons. Instead of having to find coupons to clip, they are delivered directly to your mobile phone. Just configure your settings to show coupons near your location and as you walk into a store, it will show you if there are any coupons near you. It’s a great way to get extra savings on the spot!

Just pull up the coupon on your mobile phone and have the checkout person scan it! It’s that easy!

Checkout 51

Checkout 51 is very similar to ibotta. Once you have finished shopping, scan the item purchased that is on the Checkout 51 App, scan your receipt, and you are given a credit for your money back. Once your account reaches $20, you can have your money transferred to PayPal, store cards, etc. Personally, I haven’t found as much success with Checkout 51 as I have with ibotta, but that is based on the items that I purchase. You may find it works well for you!
